Why Philly buildings like spray foam

We're a family-owned crew from Morgantown, and we come to Philly regularly. The city has a lot of older homes: brick rowhomes, twins, and stone houses with drafty attics, cold back additions, and damp basements. Spray foam seals and insulates in one step, and it gets into the gaps around old framing, chimneys, and pipes that batts can't reach.

  • Rowhome roofs and attics. Closed cell foam under flat or low-slope roof decks adds a lot of R-value in a tight space.
  • Basements and rim joists. Closed cell foam blocks air and moisture where cold air sneaks in.
  • Additions and kitchen bump-outs. These are often the coldest rooms in the house.
  • Commercial and light industrial. Warehouses, shops, and steel buildings.

The foam we use

We spray PolyCon foam and we'll tell you straight which one fits your space. Sometimes it's a mix.

PC 2000 closed cell

About R-7.1 per inch. Rigid and moisture resistant. Good for basements, rim joists, crawlspaces, roof decks, and metal buildings.

PC 450 open cell

About R-3.9 per inch. Soft, quiets sound, and a good value for walls, attics, and rooflines.

Questions people ask

Do you really come out to Philadelphia?

We do. We're based in Morgantown, PA, and Philly is a regular stop for us. Driving a couple of hours to a job is normal for us. Most of our work is within about 150 miles, and we go farther for the right job, including North Jersey and New York.

Closed cell or open cell: which do I need?

It depends on the space. Closed cell (PolyCon PC 2000, about R-7.1 per inch) is best where moisture or tight space is an issue, like basements, rim joists, roof decks, and steel buildings. Open cell (PolyCon PC 450, about R-3.9 per inch) is a good value for walls, attics, and sound control. We'll recommend what makes sense, and sometimes that's a mix.

Will an owner be on my job?

Yes. We're owner-operated, and an owner is on site for every job. You won't get a crew you've never met.

Is the quote really free?

Yes. Quotes are free and there's no obligation.
